Don't be easily deceived by the beauty of lights, for harm is not only present in darkness.
Lamp plays an essential part in the content of the novel “Noli Me Tangere” but also reflects the existing
context of the society in the regime of Spaniards. It is a symbol of hope, misery, and destruction. In
chapter fifteen, the light from the lamp revealed the resentment feeling of Sisa towards the violence
experienced by her son Crispin and Basilio at the hand of guard civil.

Most of the time, the lamp in the novel was used as a tool to see a glimpse of tears in the dim of
darkness. This is a great manifestation of how, at that time, people refuse to show their real feelings to
other people. The lamp doesn't only provide lights but also expose the fragile side of every character
that portrays
