POESIA KATORSE:

Touch Me Not

By: Frances Gem Zaraspe

The novel a man first wrote
Gives a country all hopeful quote
Letting all the words revolt
Can only be heard from a braver throat

No one even dared except him
In the benefit of lighting the dim
Sort out the false and true
Seek freedom from a mindful clue

I guess it is true
A pen can be mightier than you
It brings back what has gone by crime
The ink remains even after a lifetime

It was blurry like a shadow
It was foreign I did not know
How come it lit the head

To understand what could’ve been said?

It was a story they can hear
It was the truth no one could bear
It cannot be dead, it haunts
It was what all of us wants

How can we even thank
Someone who dared to fill the blank?
For the gaps that has been answered
Now we benefit from the ease plastered

Touch me not, I am not yet ascended
Birthed the title of the novel legend

The story that has reached the world
Only for this country where rights are pearled
