In the year 1861, the 19th day of June, a hero was born. The seventh child of Francisco Mercado and Teodora Alonzo was named Jose Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda, which is commonly known as Dr. Jose P. Rizal. He was born and raised in a pretentious home in the center of Calamba, Laguna.
His early childhood can inspire younger generations today. As he was just a young typical Filipino kid, he was used to some great works. At three years old, he could read and spell out words that trained him to become a notable writer. His experiences with his uncles were great too. Jose, Manuel, and Gregorio, his uncles, taught young Rizal to develop his skills. He was taught regular class lessons, how to develop physique and the most important thing is the value of life. Young Rizal used to play wax and clays in where he started to mold butterflies and birds. Younger generations today do not usually know those things because we are focused on the adaptation of technology.
He also spent his childhood in the church and with some priests. That is why he was taught of the good manners, characteristics, and attitude that one must-have. In collaboration with this, as the Bible tells, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” His childhood life shaped and molded him as what he became in his adult life. He brought with him what he learned in his uncles, teachers, family, and priests.
In our life, no loved ones wanted us to make wrong deeds, what someone taught us should be seen on us wherever we go, what age we are. What lesson in life someone can share with us can change our entire life, like young Rizal.
